Halloween

We went to the Chestnut Street Trick or Treating Parade this morning with Kayla's preschool class. It was ultra-adorable! Kayla was a mermaid and Tanner is the UPS Guy, We just HAD to take Tanner into the UPS store for a few photos (see above). Sunday night we will be trick or treating near our house on Commonwealth street.

BGB - BIG GIRL BED

It's official! Kayla has slept in her BGB for the last three nights with no issues!! I can't even believe it! She is also dressing herself - at least trying. She is changing overnight! Here are some photos of Kayla and the rest of us breaking in the new bed.

First Pumpkin of the Season

We found some fun pumpkin decorations to kick off Halloween. I figured that we could buy a pumpkin early in the month and not worry about it rotting. So, ta dah, we now have a non-carved cute pumpkin. The real deal will follow in a few weeks. Kayla was BEYOND excited to go get the pumpkin as evidenced by her smile at the grocery store.

First Day at Marina Tots!!

These pictures should have posted in descending order so view them from the bottom up. Kayla was bursting with excitement this morning and was quick to get dressed and eat her breakfast. There was no talking this little one into leaving her mommy for 3 hours..she was ready to go! We got Marina Tots and all the parents were milling around with their little ones. Finally, one parent left and we all followed suit. Kayla buried her head in my lap a couple of times but then would leave and explore the toys in the room. She found a Barbie right away and started playing. When she seemed content, I went over and told her that Bro and I were leaving to get coffee and would be right back.

I got a call from Debbie at Marina Tots while I was running errands with Tanner (scared me when I saw the number - did NOT want to have to go get Kayla!). Debbie said that Kayla was doing GREAT. They had already colored, sang, danced and were having a snack. Next they would be going outside to play. SO FUN! When I picked Kayla up, she seemed most excited about coloring a picture of an apple red. She couldn't believe they have enough red crayons for everyone at school to use at the same time. Kyle just informed me that Kayla is asking for a Barbie house. Uh oh. The preschool has a giant doll house and Kayla wants one. I think we'll leave giant things at school - no room at 110 Stanyan.

Kayla got a very cute Marina Tots t-shirt and wore it ALL day...refused to take it off! Miss Debbie said we will go to a Giants Game as a group and the kids will wear their shirts. Also planned is a Mom's night out and a Dad's night out. WooHoo! Kyle and I may make some new friends too!

All in all, first day of preschool was a HUGE SUCCESS!

The Night Before Preschool....

Kayla starts preschool tomorrow at Marina Tots!! We are soooooo excited over here. Kayla packed her backpack with a change of clothes, a diaper, some wipes and a sippy cup. Miss Debbie said Kayla could bring a blankie if she needed it but I don't think she'll need one! Here is a little peak into the night before preschool...even Tanner put his backpack on to join in on the excitement.

Puppy Love

Aunt Margy came over for a visit and brought her little pug, Gypsy. The kids love Gypsy. In fact, Tanner kept grunting at Gypsy's play pen...we weren't sure if he was grunting at Gypsy or what. We finally figured out that he wanted IN the play pen. So we put him inside and filmed a little video of him. He actually seems to like the mechanics of the play pen as much or more than Gypsy. Kayla later joined Tanner and Gypsy.

Hat Day

Kayla insisted on her Easter hat for a day at the park. Luckily, we had a rare sunny day so she didn't look too out of place!

Tanner has been toying with the idea of walking for a while now. He finally decided it was time. He has been walking ever since!!

Grammy sent this very cute Bee costume to us for Halloween. Kayla likes to play dress-up. Especially if her outfit has wings!

She's Got a Ticket to Ride

Kayla was soooo PROUD of her train ticket. Aunt B had the brilliant idea of meeting in Burlingame and then taking the train to Redwood City for lunch. Kayla and Tanner LOVED the train. Kayla felt very important and put her sunglasses on in movie star fashion. Tanner sank right into his chair and enjoyed the ride!
